Bunting revisited...

The other day I was having one of my periodic re-organisations in my lovely craft room and I came across this box, which had been hidden away in a corner....

And inside was a treasure trove of lovely bunting....

Just over three years ago, when I mothballed Bunting & Bows and closed the online shop, I still had some strings of bunting left, which have been boxed up since then and sorting though it renewed my enthusiasm for one of my favourite crafts.

Since learning to crochet I've also been making crochet flower garlands as well as felt flower garlands.  Garlands are a close cousin to traditional fabric bunting, usually featuring 3D arrangements of flowers and leaves, as well as pom poms, beads and natural materials.  It's even possible to combine the two forms to create a sort of 'Frankenbunting' which offers all kinds of exciting possibilities.

My craft room is crammed with all manner of different materials which have sparked ideas for lots of different bunting and garland themed items, mostly decorative but some practical too.

Also, tucked at the bottom of the bunting box was my old notebook, which I've unearthed to start making notes for new ideas, so I'm looking forward to dusting off my bunting templates and getting back into my creative happy place over the coming weeks.
